NYSC Boss , Mbaukwu monarch appeal to Obiano over NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp

www.odogwublog.com reports that the Anambra State coordinator of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Mr Ebenezer Olusegun Olawele and the traditional ruler of Mbaukwu , Awka South council area , Anambra state, Igwe Peter Nwokike Anugwu at the weekend appealed to the Anambra state Governor Chief Willie Obiano to release more funds for the completion of the ongoing construction of the National Youth Service Corps Permanent Orientation Camp at Umuawulu /Mbaukwu, Awka South Council area.

Igwe Anugwu who serves in the Board of some quoted companies including Julius Berger Services Nigeria Ltd., Interfact Beverages Ltd., Orient Petroleum Ltd among others. While conducting the commissioners round the camp, solicited for release of more fund so as to complete the remaining parts.

He said the work is being constructed according to specifications and also pleaded with the contractor handling Obeagu Mbaukwu_Habar Agulu road to come back to site.

Igwe Anugwu spoke when the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne in the company of his Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy Counterpart, Mr. Bonaventure Enamali, inspected the project being constructed by an indigenous firm.

The Anambra State Director, NYSC, Mr Ebenezer Olusegun Olawele hailed the ongoing work at the NYSC permanent orientation camp at Umuawulu/Mbaukwu but, however, reminded the governor of the need for timely completion of the NYSC permanent site to enhance the welfare of members.

Speaking shortly after ascertaining the quality and level of work, the Housing Commissioner, commended the contractor for the pace and quality of work which he noted is at about ninety percent completion, stating that when completed, it will be the best Orientation Camp in the nation.

Engineer Ezenwanne maintained that the present administration is poised to create a conducive environment for youths and the project is of utmost importance to Governor Willie Obiano who is determined to have it delivered at record time.

The Youth Empowerment Commissioner, Mr. Enamali disclosed that Anambra state is safe for the NYSC scheme and has remained the only state with unparalleled hospitality for Corps members, recalling that recently, Governor Obiano rewarded 11 members of the 2017 batch who distinguished themselves during their one year service in the state.

The project has recreational centers, clinic, hostels and offices among others even as construction work started about 2014 or 2015, though the former Director-General of National Youth Service Corps, Brig. Gen. Nnamdi Okorie-Affia had in April 2013 commended former Governor Peter Obi for what he described as his invaluable assistance to the Corps in Anambra State.

He led some top functionaries of the Corps to pay a courtesy visit to Obi , according to him to primarily thank him for assisting the Corps members in the State and for Obi’s decision to build a befitting Orientation Camp for the NYSC in the State, augmenting the feeding of corps members on camp, rebuilding and provision of facilities at the temporary camp, maintaining of the road to the camp, financial assistance, unusual concern for the welfare of all corps members posted to Anambra State, among others.He requested then for Certificate-of-Occupancy for the place NYSC was building their State Secretariat.
