                       SHOCKING: TRACAS DRIVER BLED TO DEATH WHILE DRIVING

 

It was puzzle and confusion as a bus driver with the Transport Corporation of Anambra State (TRACAS) bled to death, while on the steering on Tuesday.  The bus driver who plies Owerri-Awka route was on his way from Owerri Tuesday afternoon when the incident happened. 

The driver who was later identified as Isaac, it was gathered showed no sign of ill health when the bus departed Owerri for Awka. On approaching Amawbia By-pass, he began to cough out blood but continuing driving. Pulling overm he let a passenger alight, and drove on, this time vomiting blood that resulted in his death with passengers still on the bus.

A passenger on the bus, who gave his as Nwanchukwu, said he was shock and saddened by incident, and still find it hard to believe how the driver died,  “I was on the bus from Owerri, there was no premonition of  the driver’s death neither what would befall us. The driver wore the look of a healthy person. But it was the driver’s death that greeted us as we entered Amawbia. While he vomited blood, the passengers started shouting, beckoning on Road Safety marshals on the other side of the road to come to the man’s help, but before anyone could come to his aid, the driver died. All the years that I have spent travelling by road, I have never experienced such.”

Another driver with TRACAS, who identified himself as the late driver’s friend, Samuel Okafor, dismissed any suggestion of poison, adding that poor feeding may have led to Isaac’s death. “he was my friend.  But he wasn’t known for taking good care of himself. We have advised him on many occasions, but he refused to take heed,” said Okafor.
