Sultan of Sokoto should address the Injustice against Ndigbo,as he visits Enugu,Says IYM.

www.odogwublog.com reports that as the government and people of Enugu state have put all structures on ground for a warm reception in honour of  the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar,during his 2 day visit to the cola city, a pan Igbo group known as 'Igbo Youth Movement,IYM' has urged the visiting Emir to use the opportunity of his visit to address some of the injustices meted against Ndigbo, if truly they belong to the corporate entity.

The IYM tasked the Sultan of Sokoto on this issue in a press statement issued yesterday in Enugu, signed by the President of association,Evangelist Elliot Ukoh.

IYM in the press statement captioned, 'THE SULTAN VISITS US, AMIDST TEARS IN OUR EYES',lamented that the Igbo nation is in tears over unjust killing of the people of the region living in distant parts of the country and even the menace of Fulani herdsmen in ravaging crops in farmlands of the natives across Igbo land. IYM urged the Sultan of Sokoto to use the period of the visit,to express any iota of justification that Ndigbo are wanted in Nigeria.




Part of the press statement reads,'Days after Mike Agbahime sobbingly pleaded at the 4th meeting of Eastern Consultative Assembly (ECA) for Justice over the discharge and release of Dauda Ahmed and  his cohorts, who brutally killed his wife Bridget Agbahime in Kano on 2nd June 2016, we heard that the Sultan of Sokoto is visiting'.



IYM asserted that there is fury and anger in several public places including market stalls, relaxation centres, offices, road side gatherings, Village squares, sport clubs etc, the anger in the land over the release and discharge of Muslim youths who murdered Bridget Agbahime in cold blood in Kano State.


IYM stated further, 'A week after Fulani herdsmen beheaded Ndubisi Uzoma in Iddo, Airport road Abuja, and no arrests have been made, we are told the Sultan is coming'.


'A fortnight after the Militarization of Ala-Igbo, hours after Amnesty International released the videos of extra Judicial killing of Umu-Igbo. The intimidating military invasion code named operation python dance. We are told, that the Sultan is coming'.


'Days after the court in Abuja announced that the people’s hero Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be tried secretly, as the government witnesses will be shielded in court, we hear that the Sultan is coming'.


'Hunger, deprivation, frustration, anger and trepidation rules our land, we are told that the Sultan is coming'.


'As fears about the stubborn refusal by sections of the country to quit opposing the much needed political restructuring of Nigeria along the lines of regional autonomous anchored on true fiscal federalism, offends all, we hear that the Sultan is coming'.



IYM posited that if the sultan of Sokoto,Alhaji[Dr] Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar fails to address the above issues, it will meant that he is  telling the people of Igbo land that their  tears do not mean anything, 'Igbo lives do not matter and one Nigeria is a huge joke', IYM asserted.
