I WILL REWRITE DEVELOPMENTAL HISTORY OF MY AREA

The Peoples Democratic Party chairmanship
candidate for Bende local government area of Abia State in the
forthcoming December, 17 local council
election, Sir Hon. Gabriel Okereke
Elendu says he is poised rewrite the developmental  history of council area.

The candidate who spoke shortly after a political meeting at
the residence of his running mate,
Rotarian Chief Chidiebere Kingsley
Asonye at Ndi Udogu Obuofia Isiegbu Ozuitem community of Bende LGA,
disclosed that he is bent on letting the electorate in the area to
know what the true meaning of  democracy and good
governance is all about.

The Amaeke Alayi born politician hinted that he will work in harmony
with his Vice in order to successfully achieve and implement his five
point agenda for the council, in the areas of
Education, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Health and Social welfare just
as he added that entrepreneurial skill will be fully introduced and
embraced by the
people in the council area, in the absence
of not always available white collar jobs.

On the farmers/Fulani herdsmen clash, Elendu lamented the rate at
which the herdsmen invade farmlands in the
area with reckless abandon even as he reminded them that farmers in
the area cherish their farmlands and crops in the same way they,(the
herdsmen) cherish their cows.

Elendu however appealed to his
people to maintain peace and tow the
line of dialogue and negotiations and promised that in the near
future, the menace
will be a thing of the past.

Speaking also in the same direction, the Deputy Chairmanship flag
bearer, Rotarian Chief Chidiebere Kingsley Asonye had described the
herdsmen killing and invasion of people's farmlands as a universal
problem even as he lamented the
havoc perpetrated   last week Wednesday by herdsmen in his Ozuitem community,
where scores of people were  injured.

On the way forward, Chief Asonye said he will talk to his people not
to adopt violence approach, but to go
through the appropriate channels to register their grievances until
the issue is resolved amicably.

Asonye promised to work in harmony
and support Elendu in various ways
through meaningful advice so as to take the council area to the next
level of  transformation and development, if
eventually elected by the Bende electorate, to oversee their affairs
just as he expressed optimism that his
party, the PDP will emerge victorious
in the December, 17 Councillorship and
Chairmanship polls.
