Anambra Guber: Andy Uba Set To Join All Progressives Congress

Two term Senator of the Federal Republic and two time guber aspirant in Anambra State, Senator Andy Nnamdi Uba will join the All Progressives Congress to pursue his long sought dream of governing Anambra State come 2017.
According to a source, Senator Andy Uba has perfected plans to dump his party the PDP for the APC, holding meetings with top party functionaries of the APC in order to secure a hitch free entrance into the party.
Uba, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Accounts is the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District and is presently in his second stint as their representative in the upper chambers.
The source alleged that following the victories of the APC in Edo and Ondo elections, the Uga born politician was banking on getting the APC ticket as a step to realizing his dream to govern the state.  The source also provided details  of meetings between Uba and top functionaries of the Buhari administration and the APC, where the deal was brokered. The meetings were facilitated by a former president and an international businessman from Anambra State.
If all goes as planned, Uba will be joining the likes of Hon. Tony Nwoye, Chike Obidigbo, Ernest Ndukwe, Obinna Uzoh and Professor Chukwuma Soludo who all at some point in time decamped to the APC to seek its gubernatorial ticket. Uba will also be challenging the likes of Engineer Bart Nwibe, George Moghalu and a number of other aspirants who are described as the originals, members of the APC before the 2015 elections
Our readers would recall that Uba had served as a former SA to President Obasanjo was the PDP candidate in the 2007 elections where he won in an election that was largely described as not free nor fair. Following his victory and his swearing in as governor, he was removed 16 days later owing to a Supreme Court judgement. Uba then sought the ticket in 2010 under the Labour Party but placed a distant fourth.
In 2013, he sought and won the nomination of the Ejike Oguebego faction of the  PDP to fly its gubernatorial flag but lost out to his former protege, Tony Nwoye , of the Ken Emeakayi faction which was duly recognized by INEC and the Appeal Court.
