swapping of the name of Elder N.T
Ujoumunna with that of

Mr. Iwuanyawu Charles who took second
position in the last Local government APGA
primaries for Aba south.

The carrying  protesting Aba south APGA members who stormed the ABSIEC
headquarters in
the capital city carried placards with different
inscriptions such as ‘’ABSIEC Stop
Meddling In APGA Affairs’’, Akomas
Leave APGA Alone”, Ujoumunna Our
Sole Candidate For Aba South L.G.A”, called on the Chairman of the
State Electoral Commission, Justice
Akomas to do the needful by restoring the
name of Elder N T Ujoumunna as the
rightful chairmanship candidate of APGA for
Aba south local government area and  not Mr. Iwuanyawu Charles who
came second at the primaries.

The irate members who spoke through the legal Adviser of the party in
the local government area, Mr. Emma Eke
Okorie, vowed that Iwuanyawu cannot be the chairman of the local
government area just as he  appealed to the Justice Akomas led-ABSIEC
to use his good
offices to address the issue.

The legal adviser had threatened legal action if the State electoral
commission fails to
restore the name of Ujoumunna as the rightful chairmanship candidate
of the party

While addressing the protesters, the Director of Administration in the
State Electoral Commission, Mr. Kingsley Nwokoro assured the
infuriated APGA members that their problems would be looked into even
as he
noted that it was not the fault of ABSIEC.

Nwokoro explained that the commission work based on the information
made available to them by political parties and urged the aggrieved
APGA  members to go back to their party
leadership to ratify the issue and get back to the commission.

Earlier before marching to the ABSIEC office, the protesting Aba south
local government APGA members also stormed the APGA secretariat
located at
School Road Umuahia, where the embattled State Chairman of the party,
Rev. Austin
Ehiemere exonerated the party from the issue even as he accused the
member, representing Aba south state
constituency in the state House of Assembly, Honorable Clinton Ebere of
influencing the swapping of Ujoumunna with that of Iwuanywau.

He commended the Aba south APGA
members for their peaceful conduct
while carrying out the protest just as he assured them that the problem would be
addressed by the party leadership
