PDP wants deposed Edo monarch reinstated

The Peoples Democratic Party[PDP], has called on the newly sworn in governor of Edo state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to as a matter of urgency reinstate the traditional ruler of Uromi, HRH Anselem Edenojie. It would be recalled that Edenojie was disposed by the immediate past governor of the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, last week.

PDP in a statement signed by its National publicity secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, alleged that the traditional ruler was deposed simply because he supported the PDP's candidate in the recently concluded gubernatorial election in the state, Osagie Ize Iyamu. The deposition is further evidence of favoritism and the despotic reign of Adams Oshiomole as governor of the state for eight years. It is also evidence of the All Progressive Congress [APC], to destroy all constitutional and traditional institutions as well as the constitutional rights and freedoms of the Nigerian people in its bid to establish a one party state" the party said.
