NIGER-DELTA AVENGERS

NIGER-DELTA AVENGERS

The rampaging Niger Delta Avengers[NDA] finally broke its silence over dialogue between the Niger-delta elders and leaders under the leadership of Chief Edwin Clerk with president Muhammadu Buhari.

The elder statesman had early last week under the Pan Niger Delta Elders and stakeholders forum tabled a 16-point demand before president Buhari as solution to the resumed hostilities in the troubled region. Besides the Avengers which held sway in the region since the president assumed office last year. Other militants' axis, including the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate, had crippled the oil sector, bombing oil facilities in Urhobo and Isoko ethnic nationalities of Delta State, claiming that the Ijaws had no monopoly of militancy.

On many occasions the group rejected the choice of Clark and other persons as the negotiators on behalf of the Niger-Deltans, as according to the militia group, "they are not transparent leaders"

Barely 24 hours ago, the group[Niger-Delta Greenland Justice Mandate] disassociated itself from the visit of the Niger Delta elders and leaders, which include the Delta state Governor; Ifeanyi Okowa and his counterpart from Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson to the presidency.

The spokesperson of the group, Aldo Agbalaja said the central command of his group would soon launch a full scale bombing of oil facilities to show that they were not part of the purported meeting. In his words; "We shall bring the Nigerian daily output quota to below 500,000. Just be ready for the approaching tsunami."
