Otuoke community panics over Jonathan's foster father's safety

Members of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan community in Otuoke, Bayelsa State are currently in a state of worry for the safety of the former president’s abducted foster father, Chief Inegite Nitabai, following the discovery of the corpse of the ex-president cousin Samuel Okies who was kidnapped alongside the foster father.

A community source revealed to The AUTHORITY on Sunday that the discovery of Okies corpse has thrown fear into the indigenes of the community over the safety of the septuagenarian. “We are worried about the safety of our uncle. The men that abducted them have killed Okies and we pray they don’t touch our uncle,” the source said.

The 35 year old late Samuel Okies, according to the community sources, is always seen in the company of the abducted Chief Nitabai. They also claimed that the sound of gunshot heard during the abduction of the septuagenarian may have been targeted at the deceased.

According to indigenes of the community, although many people were not aware of Okies’ whereabouts during the last Tuesday abduction of the Chief Nitabai, the discovery of Okies’ body in the River however confirmed their fears that he was also kidnapped.

Fishermen from the Otuoke community revealed that they discovered the decomposing corpse of Mr Samuel Okies, floating on Otuoke River, two days after he was kidnapped.

Chief Inegite Nitabai, 72, had on Wednesday night been kidnapped by unknown gun¬men in the Otuoke Community of Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. The abduction is the second time he would be kidnapped by armed men in the state.
