3 year-old girl needs N4m to fight cancer

Parents of a 3-year-old girl, Doowuese Terngu, are appealing to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State and other kind hearted individuals to come to their aid and save the life of their child.

Doowuese is suffering from an ailment known as cancerous tumour and has been bedridden for about a month now at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi with no much improvement.

The cancer has grown and covered a larger part of her face, but due to financial challenges on the part of her poor parents who are peasant farmers, it has become impossible for them to raise money for the treatment of the child, who, according to the medical doctors, urgently needs an advanced form of surgery to remove the tumour.

According to medical experts at the teaching hospital, they will need the collaboration of an ex¬patriate hospital in Abuja to be able to carry out the surgery but will also need the sum of N4 mil¬lion to enable them successfully carry out the operation.

The AUTHORITY on Sunday learnt that the parents are opti¬mistic that their clarion call for help would not fall on deaf ears. They confirmed that they have started to get donations from philanthropic Nigerians to the tune of N400,000.00.

A family source told The AU¬THORITY on Sunday that the money has brought succour as they have been able to offset some of the medical bills pending at the hospital, as well as cater for the upkeep of the child at the hospi¬tal pending when the required amount would be raised.

The baby is currently going through pains as a result of the cancer, crying day and night and there seems to be no hope at the moment.
Three year old Doowuese who is currently going through intense pains is hoping on well-wishers and good spirited individuals to come to her aid by donating generously to enable her meet up with the medical bill and bring her fully back to life.
