Bishop Crowther Seminary, Awka is a big asset to Awka Anglican diocese--Bishop Ibezim and Photos of Interhouse sports

 www.odogwublog.com reports exclusively that Bishop Crowther Seminary, Awka, diocese of Awka , Anglican Communion, has been described as the best Secondary School in Anambra state by the Anglican Bishop of Awka diocese, The Right Reverend Alexander C. Ibezim , PhD.

Bishop Ibezim announced this at the 28th Inter-House Sports competition on Saturday 6th February, 2016 at the Seminary field with theme ‘’Sports: An Active Agent for youth development’’.

At the end of the competition, Green House came overall first and Yellow House came overall second best while Lemon House came overall Third best poistions respectively.

Bishop Ibezim who is the Proprietor of the BCS, Awka , said Bishop Crowther Secondary School, Awka is a school of the future, hence he noticed he has not made a mistake in appointing old boys into authority in the institution.  
Bishop of Awka Diocese, Right Reverend Alex Ibezim , PhD announced that the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) has granted approval for a state wide Microfinance Bank owned by the diocese of Awka, Anglican Communion to begin operations.
Bishop Ibezim who announced this during the 28th Inter-House sports competition of Bishop Crowther Seminary, Awka said the school is a big asset for the Anglican Communion as it is for reformation of the youths.

 The Awka Prelate said the College has metamorphosed to an international standard against what it was 6 years ago he met it, and applauded the initiative to use old boys to run the institution, even as he announced that all the teachers would be residential soonest in the ongoing three storey staff village for better academics.
In his speech, the Principal of the school, an Old Boy, Reverend Canon Nnamdi .B. Emendu PhD thanked the visitor of the school, Bishop Alex Ibezim for his support to the seminary, care and encouragement in all aspects of education to them. He thanked Governor Willie Obiano for releasing N500,000 for the college to purchase sports equipment and another N500,000 for purchase of medical equipment.
Emendu insisted that without the committed, experienced, dedicated and qualified teachers the success stories of the Bishop Crowther could not be complete as their teaching and learning centered on creativity.
He gave the list of houses created and their patrons as Rev Canon Nnamdi Emendu PhD as patron of Emendu House known as Purple house; Rev Canon Dr Kamto Obi as patron of Kamto Obi House known as Lemon; Ven Joel Akunazobi as patron of Joel Akunazobi House known as Pink; Prof Chinedu Onyenekwe as patron of Chinedu Onyenekwe house known as Yellow and Sir Prince Oduche as patron of Sir Prince Oduche house known as Sky Blue.

 Others according to Emendu are Bar. Echezona Etiaba as patron of Etiaba House known as Blue ; Bar. Uche Okeke as patron of Barr. Uche Okeke House known as Orange ; Mr Arinze Nnabugwu as Patron of Arinze Nnabugwu house known as Red; Arch. Benjamin. O. Echendu  as patron of Echendu house known as Green and Rev. A.S.P. Chidi Enukora as patron of Rev. A.S.P. Chidi Enukora House known as White as well as Rev. Canon and Mrs Basil Orji as patron of Rev. Canon and Mrs Basil Orji house known as Cream.    
He appreciated old boys and Parents Teachers Association as well as President of Mothers Union/ wife of the Bishop of Awka , Mrs Martha Chioma Ibezim and Nneora Ebele Emendu , his wife for their support for the progress of the college.
For the Chairman of Parents Teachers Association of Bishop Crowther Seminary Awka , High Chief Onwelukwue, A.N.C , the PTA is poised to assist in making the school a model hence it has embarked on building of modern toilet facilities; modern motorized boreholes; 3 storey staff village among others , commending Bishop Ibezim for appointing an old boy 37 years after the school’s existence.
Onwelukwe thanked the state government for their financial support to the missionary school, and pleaded for more support from all quarters for the completion of the 3 storey building staff quarters 
Sports Director of the Bishop Crowther Seminary , Madumelu Michael said the inter-house competition was unique in several ways including the creation of 11 houses  and patrons who are founding students and old boys .

Ven Joel Akunazobi from Niger diocese  and a House Patron in the school and Dr Churchill Okonkwo , National President of the Old Boys of the school , Chairman on the occasion Mr Chuka Umeh Chuka as well as the first Senior Prefect of the school Ven Joel Chukwuderah  all lauded the efforts of the old boys and students as well as the staff to move the college to the next level.
