He said though Nwankwo is on study leave, the wife is now in the village and tasked wives of clergies to emulate Ofili’s wife in supporting their husbands rather than pulling them down.

‘’Stop Playing God’’ , Bishop Ibezim admonishes President Buhari , says most Airport workers are thieves

On Nigeria, the Anglican Bishop of Awka, Right Reverend Alexander Ibezim, PhD, charged President Muhammadu Buhari to save the collapsing country.
He gave hard knocks on Buhari for not being able to arrest the slide in the Nigeria’s economy , even as he gave hope to Christians in Nigeria that they would survive the hard times biting hard in the country, and insisted that no matter the agony and tribulations the austerity measure that emerged since Buhari’s presidency, hope should not be lost as Buhari is not God.
‘’President Buhari is not God. Why should Buhari initiate austerity measures…. ..the progress of this country is in the hands of God not in anybody. God’s decision would happen in our lives. God is doing a new thing in our lives. God is a mystery and works in a mysterious way……………..’’
Delivering a sermon to mark the inauguration of Nawfia Archdeaconry and induction and institution of Ven. Benjamin Kenechukwu Ofili as the Archdeacon, Bishop Ibezim warned religious leaders to shun selfishness and quest for materialism in order to advance the kingdom of God.
The Awka Anglican Prelate lamented the prostitution ravaging the country in all ramifications with married women competing with single girls and warned Nawfia Archdeaconry women and girls to shun such acts but look unto God for all their needs at all times.

On the activities of workers at Nigeria’s Airport, Bishop Ibezim announced categorically that some of the workers are criminals and needed not to work at International airports even local airports in Nigeria as they have continued to dent he image of the country.
‘’Some of the people working in our Airports are thieves. I was at the Lagos International Airport as early as 5:30 am Enugu bound after my trip abroad. The workers asked me not to boarder about my excess Baggage but I insisted I will pay. I paid for my two bags but at departure one bag was missing and I demanded for it. They said I should board and they would bring it to Enugu but I refused. I missed the flight. When the airport workers eventually got the bag, he had to travel to Abuja first before connecting Enugu when he was on time to fly to Enugu on a scheduled flight. I wonder what ordinary people pass through if I can have my bag disappear in an Airport. Stealing has become part of our culture in Nigeria. ………….’’
He commended the new Archdeacon, Ven. Ofili and wife Nkiru Ofili for their tenacity and uprightness in admisitartion of the church which earned him two inaugurations, induction and institution in three months and thanked B.E.I. Nwofor, SAN led legal team of Awka diocese for their support for the diocese.

‘’Under 6 years of your Lordship’s episcopacy , you have so transformed Awka diocese that we really wonder if Nigerian politicians will not be sent to you for some tutoring. Nawfia Archdeaconry therefore seizes this opportunity to salute your vision , focus and courage in performing these feats that bemuse all and sundry’’, Nawfia community’s address stated.
