THOUGHTS OF A CONCERNED TEENAGER by Solomon Obi

My dear Nigerian youths oh how I weep at you and how I weep at our dear society, my dear youths I want to ask you these questions, and I want you to reflect on this.
Why do you reject hard work?
Why do we have this get rich syndrome?
Why do we not read anymore?
Why do we spend so much time on social media?
Why do you neglect God?
Why do we listen to senseless and non-inspirational music?
Why do we disrespect our elders?
Why do we embrace dishonesty?
Why do we do drugs?
Why do we patronize immorality?
Why do we copy foreign cultures?
Why do we reject our own cultures?
Why do we not seek enlightenment?
Why do we depend on the government for everything?
Why do we not seek innovation?
I can go on and on with this all day but I want to ask this last question, have we made an impact in this society of ours ? We instead go about our daily routine and not bother to think about how our society is drifting day by day and we are doing nothing about it, is it fair?
We need to stand up and take our destinies in our very hands and stop waiting and messing around. Start a fight for the future of our generation and ones unborn.
We should change our perception on life and start to seek a way to make an impact and change our society for the better.
We should not let these word that ‘’we are the leaders of tomorrow ‘’ be a slogan but let it be our watch word and as future leaders, we should start preparing ourselves for our tomorrow because we must, it’s our very duty and we owe it to our nation and God did not make a mistake by making us Nigerians, thank you.
