Ex-ANSIEC boss , Prof Titus Eze becomes traditional ruler of Azia, Anambra State

Former chairman of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC), Prof. Titus Eze, has been elected and installed the traditional ruler of Azia community in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He succeeds the immediate past ruler of the community who died after 38 years on the throne. Eze’s emergence as Igwe sparked off wild jubilation in Azia as he is said to enjoy the support of the majority, who trooped out in their numbers to witness his installation.
Reports say his emergence also ushered in a new traditional hierarchy in the community with renowned Onitsha-based businessman, Chief Godwin Okpalaeke, emerging the traditional prime minister (Onowu) of the community,
According to reports, the new ruler welcomed the head of the five villages that make up the community otherwise called the Obis and elevated the cabinet members to the rank of High Chiefs.
He also recognised the following names as the palace trustees: Chief Godwin Okpalaeke as the Onowu, Chief Chike Muoghalu as the Owelle and former member of Anambra State House of Assembly, Chief Uzama Okpalaeke as the Ikenga and legal adviser to the palace.
Other are Chief Gabriel Okafor as Ogene, Chief Beneth Abaniwu as Odu, Chief Bestman Obi Onyedi as Ajieukwu, Chief Ken Maduakor as Ojeluigbo, Chief Remigus Iguwa as Ojiba’, Dr Ben Ezemenari as Oboli and Ogbuefi Augustine Udensi as Asama of Azia respectively.
Meanwhile, a section of the people in the community have gone to court to challenge his emergency as Igwe.
Speaking on the development, Very Rev. Fr. Hyginus Aghaulo, who is the Director of Catholic Communication, Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, who was a member of the electoral committee, commended the people of the community for allowing peace to prevail on the process that produced the ruler, urging Igwe Eze to carry everybody along.
