PPA bemoans late arrival of election materials, commend electorates for peaceful conduct



www.odogwublog.com reports that Progressive People’s Alliance (PPA) Leader in Anambra state ,
Mr Godwin Ezeemo yesterday bemoaned the late arrival of the INEC officers and none functionality of the card readers.

Ezeemo who is the publisher of Orient Magazine and Orient Daily Newspaper said that in his Umuojogwo ward  1, Ekebelee ward among other polling units  in Umuchu community in Aguata Local Government Area of the state that the experience was terrible and frustrating .

He said that the INEC  workers did not arrive on time and when they came about 11am  the  card reader was not working for accreditation  as hoped and the adhoc workers refused to use manual process to  accredit the voters .
The presiding officer said he will wait for the Supervisory Presiding Officer to  direct him on what to do and they waited for two hours " You know what panic that sends to the voter waiting endlessly"

Ezeemo informed that after several hours were wasted in waiting for the commencement of the election that it turned out well as it was very peaceful and free off violence .

He commended the patience of the voters which goes a long way to say that we are maturing political , he was optimistic that by next round of election year that the people would have equipped themselves well with tenets of electoral process.

Ezeemo added that the security  personnel conducted themselves as expected indicating that all bodies  are now working towards maintain g our nascent democracy.

He appealed to INEC to seriously work on their internal operations which had continued to create avoidable panic and delays in the process of conducting elections in the state

The PPA leader commended the party faithful in the state for conducting themselves accordingly as there was no report of misconduct from any quarter against them .

He advised the candidates in the various  political parties to accept the outcome of the elections in good faith and join hands in any other capacity available to them in moving the state forward

Contributing, a voter in the community , Mrs Nneka Ezeemo said that though the process was delayed put it was not out of place since the card reader was a new gadget and has its associated problems.

She said that voters should only show understanding by waiting patiently and doing the needful as their part in nation building.

For Mrs Angela Okoye a candidate for Aguata Federal Constituency  Ekwulobia ward 2 said that the whole preparation by INEC was messed up by none compliance of time in the process.

She said that she looks forward when the electoral body will live beyond avoidable hitches in the process of electioneering on the country .
Some of the party agents, Mrs Mary Onuchukwu ,Miss Antonia  on ground said that the whole exercising was frustrating but resolved to wait as it is their only duty to ensuring that a quality leader mans the helm of  affairs .
