Anambra Councilors Vow to Vote Against Umeh, Obi

Unless something is done and urgently too, over 800 councillorship candidates of various political parties that participated in the January 11, 2014 Local Government election in Anambra State, under the guise of Aggrieved Councilors Association (ACA) yesterday vowed to stop the National Chairman of All progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Chief Victor Umeh by all means for what they described as payback time, reports www.odogwublog.com.

The group in a two paged press statement signed by its State Chairman, Hon. Chuks Anaje and Secretary, Hon. Nnonyelu Ejike stated that they will never be alive to see Chief Victor Umeh and the former Anambra Governor, Mr. Peter Obi win any election in Anambra State for not conducting free and credible Local Government polls in the State last year.

The Statement reads in part, “As the National Chairman of APGA and true Igbo man as he claims, who is practicing democracy, he would have in collaboration with the past APGA led government conducted the last Anambra State Local Government election fairly but they did not, instead, they picked up names of their friends, brothers and sisters and installed them in the office, making the contestants to look disfranchised.

“He wasted our time, resources and efforts towards the last local Government campaign. Now, we want to come out en-masse in the whole Anambra State at large both local governments, zonal districts of our state and ward coordinators to start door to door criticisms against Chief Victor Umeh to do to him what he did to us” it said.

The group expressed surprise that a man who, they said, never believed in election, is now presenting himself to be elected and hinted that they will continue to remind their parents, friend, family members and kinsmen on how they were robbed off their mandates in the last local Government polls.
