SDP INAUGURATES STATE EXCOS IN ANAMBRA

In a bid to end the lingering crisis rocking the party in Anambra State, the Social Democratic Party (SDP), weekend, inaugurated a 20 man State executive members of the party that will pilot the affairs of the party in the next four years.
In a motion moved by Mr. Basil Okeke from Ihiala Council Area and was seconded by Mrs Esther Nwankwor for election of the State executive committee in the state during a special congress held in Awka, the National chairman of the party, Hon. Olu Falaye (JP) conducted the election of the Party State Excos which was mainly unopposed.

The congress which was monitored by INEC officials from Abuja and Awka, however,  elected Hon. Ikechukwu Nwekwe as the Chairman and Mr. C.C Okafor as the Secretary.

Others include: Ifeanyi Nwenyi, Vice Chairman, Anambra South, Anthony Ebogha, Vice Chairman, Anambra North,  Mrs Esther Nwankwo, Woman Leader, Comrade Uche Orodu, Youth Leader,  Nnadi Ekene, treasurer, Richard Onwuzuligbo, financial secretary, Rex Ekwelu, Auditor and Rev. Nwabueze Stephen as Welfare officer.

Mrs Benedeth Ezeobi was elected Organising secretary, Hon D.C Okeke as Publicity secretary,  Barr Ndive Arinze and Hon Egbogha Mike were elected as legal advicer and Asst. Legal advicer of the party respectively.

Falaye, who was represented by the National assistant secretary, South South, Elder Ogonna Isaac also cleared over 20 aspirants in various positions including, Hon. Charlce Ifeadyo ideli, who is contesting for Idemili North/South Federal  Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.

He advised the newly inaugurated excos to imbibe the spirit of team work and eschew anti party activities as they have forces to contend with in the State.
Hon. Falaye who flanked by the Delta State Chairman of the party, Hon. Idawene Oke (JP)  commended the delegates, stressing that such gesture shows that Anambra has embraced SDP.

In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated state chairman, Hon Ikechukwu Nwekwe expressed joy that peace has finally returned in the party. He informed that SDP is a party to watch in the 2015 General elections, even as he thanked the delegates for given him and other executives the opportunity to shepherd the party members in Anambra state.
