Anambra State Police Command, yesterday, says there was no atom of crime
recorded in the state throughout the festive period.
DSP Uchenna Eze, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO)
disclosed this in an interview with our reporter at Awka, the state capital.
According to the PPRO; road crashes, pick-pocketing, kidnapping,
robbery, car snatching, among other heinous crimes which used to be rampant in
the state during the Yuletide were unheard of from 20th December
2014 till date.
Eze ascribed the hitch-free period of festivity to the state
Commissioner of Police…, who positioned his people (the Police) across all the
nooks and crannies of the state, and unalloyed support of the state Governor,
Chief Willie Obiano, whose “Operation Kpochapu squad” work tirelessly to
wipe-off miscreants in the state.
While assuring that peace and tranquility entrenched at Upper Iweka and
Bridge Head axis of Onitsha was for eternity, the Image Maker of the
Police urged hoodlums to either forget the state forever or risk their lives.
Hence, he reiterated the readiness of the Police to sustain the tempo
within and after the February 2015 general elections.
