Chairperson Ayamelum Local government area, Anambra state,Mrs. Obiorah Oluchukwu says the Governor Willie Obiano’s administration remains the best that has happened to the eight (8) communities in the council area in terms of infrastructure upgrade , empowerment and development.

Delectable Mrs Obiorah, spoke to odogwuemekaodogwu.blogspot.com during the just concluded tour of local government areas by the wife of the Governor , Chief Mrs Eberechukwu Obiano,  (Osudieme). She tasked women to join forces with their husbands to move the state and 21 council areas to the next level, lauding Chief Mrs Eberechukwu Obiano for her grass root mobilization and support.

She said the Anambra state government is currently developing many projects currently in the local government.

The Ayamelum local government Chairperson who was a former Beauty Queen runner up enumerated some of the ongoing projects to include Umumbo Road; Omor – Umerum Oba Overmmiri road; Bridge at Umueje leading to oil rig at Aguleri-Otu; Water project to serve the entire council area.

She even hinted that her husband since assumption of office 9 months ago has attracted From the state government a lot of thing including bursary award, various appointment both state and local government as well as the Skill acquisition center which is about taken off. I am 100% satisfied at the level of every project in Ayamelum.

My husband gave a bursary award to Ayamelum undergraduates which have not been done in the history of education in Ayamelum council area. As the first lady, I want to add colour to what he did by again embarking on the programme catch them young in the primary school for children in Ayamelum. All these are to promote education in Ayamelum.

Mrs Obiorah said Ayamelum is made up to 8 communities with 11 wards including Omor  with 3 wards, Ifite-Ogwari with 2 wards; Igbakwu with 1 ward; Omasi with 1 ward; Umueje with 1 ward Umumbo with 1 ward and Anaku with 1 ward and Umerum with 1 ward.

We have started mobilizing them through effective representation based on equity which is my principle. This is because people are watching and  you get what you deserve at the end if you people oriented and if you are not they would reject you with their votes in 2015 because the coming elections would be tougher.

On challenges while working, Mrs Obiorah said ‘’,one thing very clear is that human wants are insatiable, human behavior can not be predicted with those knowledge, there must be always challenges in human resources. What is needed from every leader is to know how to manage human being. Therefore, I try my best to utilize the people around me by giving each person a role he/she is fit for.

She admitted that there is a difference in ideology of the present administration based on actualities on the ground.

‘’The world is changing politically socially or economically. Therefore, I must have a different political goal or ideology from the past government make an impact in my LG because of the changing conditions of the environment’’.

Speaking exclusively to odogwuemekaodogwu.blogspot.com, she spoke on security this way,’’ Well, Kidnapping is a national issue that needs general attention personally; I do tell my husband to make it a priority, the security of life and property. I am about to do a programme that will help in promoting education in Ayamelum. This will reduce idleness among people, for they say that idle mind is a devils workshop.

We have vowed to be transparent in anything we are doing here to avoid suspicion and thank God my husband is open and fair even he promotes transparency by not listening to gossip and that is why the local government does every thing with approvals from state which is the rule everybody should abide by consciously or unconsciously.

Her Excellency’s visit She commended the Anambra first lady Chief Mrs Willie Obiano for embarking on the meet the people tour of council areas as it has endeared her to all the women in rural areas especially the less privileged, physically challenged , old age people and youths.

She said the women have agreed to be supportive of the Obiano administration’s community policing by every women giving her children a good parental advice and directing them to things that will make them responsible members of the society rather than deviants.

She wants to be remembered for legacy of peace, unity and progress in Ayamelum. This she said is because with them, other things will be added upon as the Biblical saying goes, seek the Kingdom of God first and other things will be added upon.
