Exclusive: Two Men In Prison For Attempting To Kill Late Prof Akunyili Mourn Her Death

                                        

Odogwuemekaodogwu.com informs exclusively that the two persons in Onitsha prison standing trial of attempted murder of Late former Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Prof. Dora Akunyili have joined the list of her mourners from prison yard. They  wept and cried their hearts out asking God why He allowed Dora to die. 

The two accused persons currently standing trial charge over attempted assassination on her,  Olisa Igbokwe and Christopher Mba, odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports had through Chairman of Nkporo Youths Association, Ohaofia,  Anambra State  Chapter, Mr Okemonwu Akuma  expressed their sadness over the death.

Akuma who disclosed this to odogwuemekaodogwu.com said one of the suspects , Igbokwe, their member,  hinted that he visited the accused persons in prison custody and they urged him to convey their condolences to Akunyili's family.       

                                                                                                            
He said they expressed dissatisfaction with her untimely exit recalling that late Akunyili told them she blamed the court for their incarceration in jail adding that justice delayed is justice denied.

 Contributing, the National President of the group, Chief Arunsi I Uka, in corroborating what Akuma said, recalled also that when wives of the accused once went and pleaded to late Akunyili for the release of Igbokwe to enable him bury his late mother that she said she was not in position to grant such a request but the court.                                                                                                                                           

   Odogwuemekaodogwu.com  recalled that the former NAFDAC DG and ex Minister of Information escaped assassination attempt on her by the whiskers  in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area, on 26 December 2003 on her way going home.

After one year of hearing on the matter in court, it was struck out but Akuyili went to appeal the judgment which resulted in the continuation of the trial infinitum, so observed odogwuemekaodogwu.com.
