odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that Chief Mrs Ebele Obiano has taken giant strides on how to be a 'mother to over 6 million Anambra children'.

WIFE of Anambra State Governor, Mrs Ebele Obiano played her motherly role Tuesday when she paid a scheduled visit to the Zion Hospital and maternity, Enugwu-ukwu to see an abandoned baby boy admitted at the hospital.
Addressing the staff, the governor’s wife who cautioned the nurses and attendants to take good care of the baby-patient, promised to offset the bill for his care and treatment.

Mrs Obiano also promised to absorb the baby into the Obiano family if nobody comes forward for his adoption, as she counseled young ladies and nursing mothers to realize that children are gifts from God and must be welcomed into the family and respected.
In an interview, the doctor on call, Dr. Oliver Onwuhalu said the baby was just 18 hours old, weighing 28kg when they brought him to the hospital yesterday. “He will be circumcised in this evening and we are getting ready to discharge him,” the doctor said, while commending Mrs Obiano for the timely visit.
In another development, Mrs Obiano  also embarked on a tour of specialized schools in Anambra State to identify and give the less privileged a sense of belonging, especially the blind, the deaf and dumb.
The schools visited were Basden Memorial Special Education Centre, Isulo in Orumba South Council Area, Special Education Centre, Umuchu in Aguata Council Area, during which she also donated food items to the schools management, including bags of rice, beans, vegetable oil, salt, one cow and N50, 000 each to the principals for pupils welfare.
Commissioning a water borehole project constructed and completed personally by the her at Basden Memorial Education Centre, Mrs. Obiano appealed to philanthropists and good spirited Anambra citizens to come to the aid of the pupils, saying that they were not the cause of their predicament.
“I realized that some of their greatest challenges were lack of potable water: where they travelled over two kilometres in search of water, poor feeding and infrastructure. Even the condition of the school is highly deplorable.”
“ The fact that they were handicapped does not warrant such abandonment, they are human beings and must be attended to by all of us.  Those with sight challenges can be trained through Braille reading, the dumb through sound education,” she submitted”.
Earlier in a welcome address, the school’s Administrative Secretary, Mrs. Ebere Ichoku, regretted that former Governors never visited the school since its inception 18 years ago, and commended Mrs. Obiano for her efforts and gifts, especially cash to the children, staff and the school in general.
Mrs. Ichoku also complained of dilapidated structures, and lamented that roofs of the school library, refectory, workshop and staff quarters etc. were all leaking and urgently need attention.
