He said that the major project of the association
for the year would be to procure and equip its office with modern office
facilities which he said would cost the association hundreds of thousands of
naira and called for financial support of the members.
The Deputy Governor of Amambra State, Dr Nkem Okeke who was the special guest of honour at the event said the State was out to build human infrastructure through education and would partner with any association towards achieving that.
He said that the State now enjoyed relative peace which he noted was as a result of Governor Obiano giving himself a task to achieve that through the recent innovative constitution of a joint task force comprising the army, police, navy, SSS and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, and inauguration of Operation Kpochapu whose efforts, he said, had brought normalcy in Onitsha metripolis. He said that government would continue to fight criminals in the State until they were pushed out of Anambra.
Awardees on the occasion included, Prof Emeka Ezeonu, Comrade Ubaoji Kingsley, Hon Justice J.C. Iguh, Barrister Ifeanyichikwu Obiakor, Hon Dr Mrs Ego Uzoezie.
