Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige representing Anambra Central senatorial zone in
the Senate, has debunked a statement credited to him in the social media,
unleashing abuses on Yoruba people.
Ngige was quoted online as saying that, 'Yoruba people are wicked, I would never have anything to do with them'.
But, reacting on this issue, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate in the November 16 governorship election in Anambra State, Senator Chris Ngige described the forged document in circulation on the Internet as malicious and untrue.
Ngige
who spoke through the Deputy Director, Media and Publicity of his Campaign Organization,
Okelo Maduklaife , added that such document has not emanated from him, his
agents, privies or associates, urging the public to disassociate him from the
document.
He categorically stated in a press statment in Awka ,that, that document and all its contents, must not be made to assume any higher value as the unthinking forgers of the document, according to him, have not taken the pains to study the phenomenon call Chris Ngige, his mannerism and manner of speech.
The content in part: “It is a fatal error which has further reduced these sore political foes as incapable of staying above the belt. We therefore urge self-respecting members of the general public to discountenance the verbal poison under reference and avert their mind to what could have necessitated this bad forgery at a time Sen. Ngige has just led his party in Anambra State through very organized and transparent State Congresses to establish a formidable structure in the state , and is making serious-footed progress in the State election tribunal to restore the voting rights of Anambra State citizens, stolen on 16th November 2013, in exchange of an unelected Junta” .
