A day of Joy, As Felix Walks Down Favour Down Aisle

Penultimate Saturday, a popular Newspaper distributor, Mr. Felix Oti known widely in the entire South East region especially Anambra and Enugu as Deboy walked down the aisle her heartthrob former Miss Favour Chinonso Maduabuchi , a student of Science Technology, Federal Polytechnic ,Neked , Imo state.

 

Journalists , Vendors , newspaper Distributors and even readers of newspaper as well as Managing Directors and top officials of some Newspaper house like Orient Daily  , News Watch Magazine, National Light and radio and television station to mention but a few graced the occasion.

People knew a journalist related guy is doing something by the number of vehicles with inscription of NUJ and Press as well as personal stickers of journalism based companies that thronged the venue in solidarity.

The solemnization was at the ultra modern church hall of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ossy Gambia Street off Old INEC road, Okpuno Awka. And looking around in the well attended church service unlike journalists function were people from rustic community of  Isuochi in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, where both are from and people from Awka community where Deboy resides among other thousands from Anambra state and beyond.   

Hand-in-hand, the bride and her father, Deacon Maduabuchi walked into the church to meet the waiting groom. Favour and Felix’s families including their parents and siblings were there to witness/celebrate with them.

 Favour was just stunning as ever and the bride of the moment adorning a beautiful white-coloured empire-waist chiffon and silk gown adorned with a slow stopping crystal ornament with embellished straps. Her hair was swept up in a half up do adorned with a tiara. Her bridesmaids were dressed in purple/red cocktail dresses while the happy groom was handsome in his ash suit with a black shirt with a golden formal neck scarf.


Opening prayer/hymn was taken to commence the event as the church service was presided over by Pastor Majebi  PA and Pastor Sunday  Anyiam. The church activities were the Pastor’s show but there was an intermittent show off by the Church Choir.

 In his sermon, Pastor Majebi urged the couple to be submissive to each other, as he reminded the bride to submit herself to her husband and the husband to love his wife.

At the end of the power packed ministration, the couple signed the marriage register after which they were presented with their marriage certificate shortly after the officiating priests declared them husband and wife. A processional hymn was taken after the couple had been blessed. They danced out their heart with the congregation joining suite.


The couple arrived King David Hotel, Awka, were the reception took place, the couple's parents were called to the high table among others including Pastors from different churches.

Consequently, the newly wedded couple was ushered into the hall by their bridal train, as family, friends and well wishers welcome them with standing ovation and dances.

Mr Chris Arinze Amalachukwu who chaired the occasion, thanked God for the success of the event and enjoined the couple to take to the words of God as preached in the church since according to him marriage, is for companionship and must be based on love and trust.

On her own part, the bride described the day as most joyful day in their life, as Favour said " honestly I feel so overwhelmed and great being his wife, I just pray to have him in my next world. He's a very nice caring man in fact he's an Angel sent from above".

The groom also described the day as happiest day in his life," I feel like a king, I did not know God loves me like this, by giving me my missing 'rib', woman of my life, in short am  the most happiest man  today...she is very loving, caring and intelligent," he said.

‘’When I met my wife I was not interested in asking for her hand in marriage but with time her innate qualities and uniqueness dawned on me , I was begging for her hand in Marriage but it wasn’t easy because of ladies way, she was having an idea of wedding the same time with her friend. But thank God we are destined to be together’’.

 They thanked all the guests who attended their wedding ceremony preceded by a traditional marriage ceremony at Isuochi.

Guests were served choice foods and drinks, as the event attracted some top government officials like Mrs Nkem Ekene Osuigwe, Director Anambra State Library Board Awka who was represented by the accountant of the Board Mrs. Obi Osita Ngozi and former Chairman Njikoka Local government area of Anambra State, Hon. Daza Udeozor among others of the groom's friends from different media houses.
