Child Trafficking: Police Arrest 4 In Anambra , Intercepts AK47



                                                    

Anambra state police command yesterday arrested three suspected child traffickers believed to be the brain behind stealing and trafficking of children from Anambra to other parts of the country. 

Those arrested were Mrs. Ogochukwu Nwakpa, Christina Egbo and Angelina Opeke .They are  assisting the Anti-trafficking section at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Awka and would soon be charged to court.
Meanwhile, officers from  Okpoko Police Division also yesterday allegedly recovered military AK 47 rifle with 12 live ammunitions from a man on transit who took to his heels when the gun was intercepted to evade arrest.
The operatives stopped him and were trying to ascertain the content of the bag, when the conveyer dropped the bag and ran.
Divisional Police Officer in charge of Okpoko Police Division, CSP Emeka Ugwu confirmed the incidents, stating that the suspected traffickers has been transferred to the SCID Awka and referred this reporter to Awka for more details.
