Pregnant woman, others escape death in Multiple road crashes in Onitsha

Multiple motor accidents occurred near Building Materials market Ogidi axis of the Onitsha Enugu express way, without any fatality.

The accident involved a tipper lorry and nine other vehicles moving towards former Toll Gate

Onitsha.

The tipper with registration number Lagos XS601KRD loaded with sand was heading towards the Toll Gate on a high speed when it apparently lost control and ran into other moving vehicles.

According to some passengers in the affected vehicles, including Messrs Cajethan Okotti and John Solomon who were traveling to Taraba and Yola respectively, they heard sound of multiple clashes of vehicles from behind with the tipper hitting their vehicles before it finally fell on its side.

Another passenger Mr Joseph Olukoye traveling to Adamawa said he was inside the bus hit directly by the tipper but thanked God that he did not sustain injury.

Those who gathered at the scene of the accident thanked God that despite the gravity of the incident no life was lost and advised drivers to always drive with care.
