DR. ORJI UZOR KALU WE NEVER KNEW BY CHIEF MODESTUS UMENZEKWE

His Excellency, Chief Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Ahaejiagamba of Igbere, the master strategist is a generous Igbo man living. A man who makes and keeps friendship all over Nigeria and beyond.
A Newspaper magnate and a business mogul. His entry into APC in particular and South East in general has given us a hope for ascending into being President of this Country Nigeria of Igbo extraction in 2023. Orji has done so much for Nigeria. He is an outstanding detribalized Nigerian leader. He was conferred Chieftaincy titles by so many tribes in Nigeria. Who can believe that his personal assistant is a Yoruba man just like His Excellency Prince Olagunsoye Oyinola who made an Igbo officer his ADC when he was the Military Governor of Lagos State.
Orji Uzor Kalu as a newspaper magnate, his Newspaper Daily Sun produced the former Editor in Chief, Mr. Femi Adesina, a Yoruba man and now the Special Adviser on media and publicity to the President of which he is one of the most successful Special Adviser to Presidents. Femi Adesina was very passionate in writing articles, unknown to him that Mr. President, an avid reader of Newspapers was keeping close tabs in his write-ups. It was when he was editing the SUN, he was passionate in writing about the goodness of Mr. President that Mr. President after swearing in directed that Femi takes up the appointment. Both Mr. President Muhammadu Buhari and Mr. Femi Adesina never knew each other before. Femi never knew that Buhari is an avid reader who reads all articles about him. When Femi moved to the Presidency, the detribalized Uzor Kalu retained a none Igbo as the man in charge of the affairs of the newspaper. So many editorial staff of the Newspaper are not Igbos. They have unfettered hands to write whatever they think on anybody, being he Mr. President or Orji Uzor Kalu himself. He never interfered in the Editorial policies of his two successful newspapers, the DAILY SUN and the NEW TELEGRAPH. Even in marriage, Orji married from Anambra State, from Oyi Local Government Area.
When Orji was defecting to APC from PDP, we the founding members of APC that were there had no good reference of personality like him until the former President of the Senate, former Governor, former and serving Senators including Senator Dr. Andy Ubah (Igwebuike) began to crowd into APC and APC became a party to beat. But before then we have great Senator Dr. Chris Ngige (Igbo Leader) who worked so assiduously to single handedly made APC in the South East. Behind the scene Chief C.B. Azikiwe (Owelle of Onitsha) who died and buried on 12th September, 2015 made a lot of impact to what APC is enjoying today, even Mr. President knows about that.
Orji Uzor Kalu, the Ahaejiagamba was a successful student of Government College Umuahia and one of the pioneer students of University of Maiduguri. He was made a Director or Chairman of Imo Progress Bank. When he was the Governor of Abia State, many things were done perfectly both security, good business of all kinds that one can sleep with two eyes closed in Abia State. His successor T.A. Orji was his Chief of Staff. T.A. Orji was elected Governor despite the fact that he was in prison detention. This was made possible courtesy of the master political strategy of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, the Ahaejiagamba. The entire Abia never knew T.A. Orji but Uzor Kalu campaigned and successfully made him the Governor. He came from the prison to the swearing in as the Governor of Abia State. That is Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu for you. What Orji Kalu is passing through at the Federal High Court in Lagos is painful. He is such a human being that helps those that come to him for help
In conclusion, I would prophesy that when the come comes to become Chief Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu be considered as the next President after Muhammadu Buhari come 2023.

Umenzekwe writes from Lagos.
