Archbishop Ndife becomes United Nations Chartered Peace Advocate


www.odogwublog.com reports that Archbishop Dr Ephraim Ndife is now a Chartered Peace Advocate in the Order of Mayor for World Peace of the United Nations' Peace and Positive Living Awareness Center, UN PEPOLAC.


He was honoured at his Country Home, Umuokpu, Awka in Awka South Local Government Area.

The event was attended by Ambassadors for world peace, clergy, friends and well wishers even as attitudinal Change has been advocated as the bedrock for living and enthronement of lasting peace in the modern Nigeria.

The ceremony organized by the United Nations' Peace and Positive Living Awareness Center, UN PEPOLAC, aims to bring peace to humanity in the spirit of volunteerism, thereby promoting United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.

The International Coordinator of the UN PEPOLAC, Right Reverend Ozioma Ozoemena said the flag hoisting ceremony is a requirement that must be carried out for one to become a full fledged advocate on their platform.

Right Reverend Ozioma further stressed that the chaos which happened in the past gave rise to the concatenation of 148 Countries to demonstrate the Universal Declaration for World Peace and promote alternative conflict resolution, rather than gun wielding.

A Guest Lecturer, Professor Olusegun Shobeshun admonished on why peace is important in the light of conflicts happening in Nigeria including political, social and religious crisis.

Professor Shobeshun while calling on Nigerians, especially ndi Igbo, to change their behaviour towards others for peace to play out, urged the citizenry to always act as agents of change wherever they find themselves.

The celebrant, Archishop Ndife appreciated the United Nations for finding him worthy for the honor, reiterating that his secret has been God all these years.

The Cleric called on people to always depend on God as their only source.

Others who attended the event include the member representing Awka South Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Dr Nnamdi Okafor, the Traditional Prime Minister of Awka, Chief Benjamin Okoye as well as the Director of News and Current Affairs, Mr Gab Okpalaeze, who is also an Ambassador for World Peace.
