Nnewi Town in crisis if....., as Union Exco warned against destabilization tendencies

www.odogwublog.com reports that the Nnewi Community is about losing its peaceful stance if urgent peace talks being championed are not hearkened to.

The Obi of Nnewichi in Nnewi North local government area of Anambra State,  Obi George Onyekaba (Obidiugwu)  has said that the present execution of Nzukora Nnewi under the leadership of Sir Ugochukwu Udemezue (Ifeneti) will  truncate the peace and harmony inherent in the industrial town.

Obi Onyekaba stated this during a forum yesterday noted that it is worrisome that the present crop of Nzukora Nnewi leadership is fragrantly attempting to set aside the rotational arrangement which has kept the town in perfect equilibrium and stability.

The traditional head of Nnewichi-Nnewi stressed that tensions, acrimonies and fierce battles that characterized elections in other communities are alien to Nnewi environment because of the understanding of the rotational system adding that it is unacceptable that SirUdemezue to front a candidate from Umudim community to go for a second tenure on whatever pretentious grounds at the expenses of Nnewichi.

Obi Oyekaba maintained that it is the turn Nnewiichi and Nnewiichi must produce the next representative for the entire Nnewi in the Anambra State House of Assembly. “Nnewi political system remains rotational and in zoning formula, it is now the turn of Nnewichi to produce house of assembly candidate so the chairman Nzukora Nnewi is only causing trouble saying that Umudim should go for another tenure.

“The present executives should work towards bringing Nnewi town together not separating the town. They feel that they are the only government in Nnewi and as such, such dictate what should be and not be in the town. Nnewi town should be a collective contribution of all not for a section of the town,” he concluded
