APGA ends retreat in Awka , assures free, fair and credible primaries


www.odogwublog.com reports that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) underestimated its strenght and reach yesterday when it used a small hall at Finotel hotel Awka for its retreat and got so many of its credible aspirants locked out or pushed out of the hall.


 APGA however has ended the 2019 General elections Aspirants retreat and book presentation in Awka with a promise to aspirants that they would have a free, fair and credible Primary elections coming up soonest this month.

The APGA retreat with theme, "APGA: The Trials, tribulations and triumphs, featured a book presentation by former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Chukwuma Soludo and was attended by aspirants across Nigeria and prominent financiers as well as members of APGA.
The retreat was aimed at creating the platform for interaction and networking among the aspirants as well as to educate them on their responsibilities towards their constituents and to familiarize them with the manifesto of the party.

Governor Obiano, who is the National Leader and Chairman and Chairman Board of Trustees of APGA, noted that the aftermath of the primaries will determine the future of the party. He assured that the party's primary elections will be free, fair and transparent.
Governor Obiano cautioned the aspirants against all forms of thuggery during the primaries, reminding them that it is only God that institutes leadership.
The National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye said riding on the back of the overwhelming victory of Governor Obiano in his re-election bid, the party wants to use the opportunity to engender measures that will promote internal democracy.
The Chairman on the occasion, Chief Godwin Maduka commended the party for putting together the event, and Governor Obiano for living up to positive political ideals and making Anambra an international showpiece of good governance.

Also in attendance were the major participants who include all aspirants, from all over the country, from the Presidential level to the Houses of Assembly.
