www.odogwublog.com reports that the over one hundred women members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) arrested and detained by the police before were later remanded in Owerri prison are starving.
This is because, family members who visited the IPOB
detained Women remanded in Owerri Prison, were barred from entering. They were forced
to go back with items brought for the Women.
Armoured Tanks were also mounted at the entrance of
the Prison Gate and Security agents forced the visitors out.
THe chaos generated by the ugly development in the
Prisons in front of the prison, compelled the DCP and other Prison Officials to
address angry Family members of the detained IPOB Women.
”We have been ordered not to allow visitation of the
IPOB Women remanded here. Take the Food back, until further notice”.
Food items, Drugs and Clothes that were rejected by
the Prison officials were taken home by the Family members.
