Aguata Federal Constituents vow to elect Iyke Russia, Hon Ikechukwu Umenwa

 www.odogwublog.com reports that stakeholders and Constituents of Aguata Federal Constituency, Anambra State at the weekend insisted that Hon Ikechukwu Umenwa, Member currently representing Aguata 1 in the state House of Assembly is the most qualified candidate to represent them in Federal House of Representatives in 2019 as he has been tested and trusted.

The Stakeholders and Aguata Federal Constituents further said that Hon Umenwa a.k.a Iyke Russia remained untainted for 8 years in the state House of Assembly and was never arrogant and selfish as some others even as they passed a vote of confidence on his political representation so far at the State House of Assembly.

They asked others to wait after Hon Umenwa’s sojourn as their votes are for Iyke Russia as he is fondly called, describing him as a good material for the National Assembly since he has not discriminated against party or religion in dealing with his constituents even though the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) his party is proud of him as disciplined party man , having stayed in APGA since he joined.

They were elated and even amazed at his level of selflessness that necessitated his attraction of overwhelming infrastructure --roads, and projects as well as intimidating job opportunities –civil service, empowerment and skill acquisition for Aguata people and urged him to be set for election into the National Assembly since he does not want to return to the state House for a 3rd term.

A renowned farmer and CEO of Eagle Foods from Umuchu, Chief Ugochukwu Okpalaeke expressed gratitude on behalf of Aguata one constituency in the state House for Hon Ikechukwu Umenwa’s quality representation in the constituency describing him as trustworthy son worthy of support to actualize his dreams of more service for Aguata Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

For Barr Ikenna Ezeibenne from Amesi with an eye in the state House of Assembly, Hon Iyke Umenwa remained am asset for the people of Aguata, describing him as a man with an impeccable character. He informed that Hon Umenwa’s strong representation in the state House made it impossible for him to have contenders but with his exit for higher representation, things would be easier for them in the contest.

Speaking in same vain, a business magnet and CEO of DANAS Motors, Hon Uche Okoli informed that he would have asked Iyke Russia to proceed to the National Assembly because of his effective and action packed representation if he has the powers but reassured that he would support Hon Umenwa with a bus for his campaign if he emerges the flagbearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) after the party primary.

Again, Chief Jude Ezeobi from Akpo and Peter Ezeonyilimba said a support to Hon Umenwa for House of Representatives is a progressive support having excelled in the state House of Assembly and urged all in Aguata one to join forces with Hon Umenwa in mobilizing support of Aguata 2 to enjoy what they have enjoyed.

For Hon Innocent Obiefuna , Hon Umenwa’s representation was an eye opener for Agauta 1 constituents hence they appealed to him to move to the National Assembly and bring home dividends of democracy for Aguata Federal Constituency , describing his representation as unequalled. He as well as said Umenwa is a bulldozer the constituents needed most for better service. He added that he should be forgiven in any way he has erred against his party or constituents but remained the only person that would win the ticket for APGA.

Chairman of all chairmen of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Aguata council area, Onyeka Ezenwa informed that so many constituents are in Umenwa’s payroll, others in his scholarship scheme, others he has granted employment opportunities in local , state , federal agencies as well as private organisations.  He said aside giving unconditionally, he has left Aguata South better than he met it with infrastructure and projects and hasn’t left APGA since he joined.

In his speech after Umenwa’s declaration at the local government party secretariat at Aguata,  Hon OCJ Ezechukwu who is the local government chairman of APGA regretted that politicians have failed the citizenry with poor representation and non-fulfilment of their promises, but lauded the massive achievements Hon Umenwa showcased in his quality representation of his council. He encouraged him to write down all he has been able to achieve to avoid others taking glory as he was shocked from the list he has seen so far, ‘’….you have done well. What I have seen today, you are credible enough to represent us’’. He assured that the primary would be free and fair and only who the masses want would emerge victorious.

For George Ogbuagu , Hon Umenwa aside his official contributions had used his personal resources  to  grade local roads  in his community and restored peace in Uga community after 17 years of crisis leading to crowing of a Traditional ruler for the community. He said Umenwa has an open door policy, God fearing, accessible and considerate hence he built houses for people, among others and needed support to emerge APGA Candidate.  He said he was crowned Eziokwu futaihe by his people for his steadfastness and stand on the path of the truth.

  Others who spoke in similar tone were Chief Engr Isaac Okpalanzekwe, Hon Ifeanyi Dim, Hon Chigozie Umendu, Hon Engr Jude Uzoenyi , Chidi Nwakpodolu , Mrs Amaka Ifemezie , Umendigbo Williams and Chidi Ochili among others.

Speaking earlier, member Representing Aguata one constituency, Hon Ikechukwu Umenwa said he was humbled by the genuine support and solidarity from his constituents and promised to change the APGA local government office to be befitting. He declared his interest to contest the Federal House of Representatives seat for Aguata Federal constituency, appealing for their support to make it a reality.

Hon Umenwa told them his Russian story and his interest in politics which is to champion development hence the testimonies because he was okay in every sense of it before joining politics having sponsored his campaign hundred percent, and till today he has no godfather or godmother to control his representation .

He said politics is a place to help others and not to help self aside the joy of being chosen to represent adding that he has a school for training people on skill acquisition at no cost to them. He announced that he has so many things he has achieved without advertising it. He informed that he facilitated the employment of 100 teachers during teachers’ recruitment for his Aguata one constituency.

‘’I don’t give promises, I cannot keep. The problem of Aguata lies on my head and whatever I can do to improve on it , I do without waiting for prompting’’.
