www.odogwublog.com reports that Governor Willie Obiano has sworn in
nineteen Commissioners and eleven Special Advisers to serve in the second term
of his administration.
Out of the nineteen Commissioners that were sworn in, eight served in the first term while the other eleven were new additions to the state executive Council.
While some took over from the out
gone commissioners, others had newly created Ministries assigned to them.
Notable among the new commissioners
are the Commissioner for Environment and Beautification, Arch Mike Okonkwo, his
Information and Public Enlightenment Counterpart, Mr. C-Don Adinuba, the
thirty-two years old Commissioner for Youths Entrepreneurship and Sports
Development, Mr. Bonaventure Enemali, among others.
The Oaths of Allegiance and Office
were administered on the new appointees on behalf of the Governor by a Deputy
Director in the State Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Nnedi Okechukwu, who
represented the Solicitor- General of the State.
Swearing in the Commissioners and
Special Advisers, Governor Obiano congratulated them for being selected to
serve the state, reminding them that so much is expected from them in making
the next four years of his administration glorious.
He told them that their performance
will be appraised on a hundred-day basis and anyone found wanting will be
disengaged, urging them to immediately hit the ground running.
Wishing them well in their
respective areas of work, Governor Obiano assured the new appointees that he
will give them the necessary support to enable them succeed.
Immediately after the swearing in,
Governor Obiano and the new appointees went in for the first Executive Council
Meeting of his second term where it is expected that the discussions and
agreements reached over the weekend during the retreat of the State Executive
Council, will be reviewed and adopted.

The 19 Commissioners are Dr Mrs Uju
Nwogu (Attorney General and commissioner for Justice), Hon Ifeatu Onejeme
(Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Mark Okoye, (Commissioner for Economic Planning
and Budget, Hon Greg Obi, (Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy
Affairs).
Others are Dr Joe Akabuike
(Commissioner for Health), Hon. Obi Nwankwo (Commissioner for Public
Utilities), Hon. Afam Mbanefo, (Commissioner for Agriculture) and Prof Kate
Omenugha (Commissioner for Basic Education).
The Commissioners joining the
cabinet newly are C. Don Adinuba (Commissioner for Information and Public
Enlightenment), Engr Marcel Ifejiofor (Commissioner for Works), Nnamdi Onukwuba
(Commissioner for Lands), Architect Mike Okonkwo (Commissioner for Environment
and Prof. Obiekezie Theresa (Commissioner for Tertiary and Science
Education).
Also sworn in are Dr Christian
Madubuko (Commissioner for Trade and Commerce), Mr Uche Okafor (Commissioner
for Transport), Mr Bonaventure Enemali (Commissioner for Youth
Entrepreneurship), Sally Mbanefo (Commissioner for Local Artwork, Culture and
Tourism), Ndidi Mezue (Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs) and Engr
Emeka Ezenwanne (Commissioner for Housing).
The 11 Special Advisers (SPADs)
sworn in are CHIKODI ANARA (SPAD ON SECURITY ,SAFETY AND EMERGENCY), MELIE
ONYEJEPU (SPAD ON BUDGET MONITORING AND IMPLEMENTATION), OKAY INNOCENT EZEOBI
