Police commence investigation into murder of IMSU undergraduate

www.odogwublog.com reports that Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris Ezike yesterday confirmed that the killing of a 23 year old undergraduate of the State University, Miss Kelechi Assumpta Ibe was cult related even as he said the fleeing gunmen will be nabbed. 

Ibe, a student of the Banking and Finance department was shot dead while partying with her friends at Douglas road, Owerri, which left everyone scampering to safety. 

Ezike said the death was cultism related and called on parents and guardians to caution their wards on the evils of cultism.

Ezike said " the killing of the female final year  student was cult related. I have already instructed the Anti Cultism Unit of the Command to takeover the matter from the state CID", the police boss said. 

"Parents and Guardians must keep telling their children to denounce Cultism. As a command ,we are working hard to make sure that issues of Cultism and killings are permanently put to rest in Imo state", Ezike said.

He disclosed that the police is closing in on the perpetrators, adding that no murderer will be allowed to walk free.

Miss Ibe, a final year student, was to graduate in August this year. 

President of the Banking and Finance Department, Victor Adiele, said that they were in  mourning mood over the painful loss.

He said "With tears of agony and bitterness, the entire students mourn the death of our beloved colleague, course mate, friend, sister, Kelechi Assumpta Ibe,popularly known as Kaycee. We pray God to grant her eternal rest", Adiele prayed.
