www.odogwublog.com reports that the
Archbishop of Enugu Province of Anglican Communion, Most Rev(Dr)
Emmanuel Chukwuma said party politics has failed to deliver the much
needed dividends of democracy to the teeming Nigerian masses.
The prelate stated this during an interaction with journalists in Nnewi yesterday.
Archbishop
Chukwuma who is also the bishop of the Enugu diocese of Anglican
Communion pointed that political parties politics of sentiments,
bandwagon, and other primordial considerations has throw up set of
leaders who are not very interested in the welfare of their followers.
He
stated that the time has come for the nation to correct the errors of
the past by ensuring that intellectual capacity, antecedents, integrity,
pedigree and other qualities are considered before giving a mandate to
any political office seeker in the next dispensation.
The
fiery preacher said it is practically impossible to continue to do the
same thing and at the same time expect a different result noting that
the old and tired politicians should leave the scene and allow the
vibrant young men and women who can turn things around for the better to
take over the leadership of the country.
He
the church has started a process of sensitization and mobilization of
the people to get registered in the INEC's continuous registration
exercise to make sure that people carry out their civic responsibility
of electing credible political leaders.
