COOU Teaching Hospital Awka restates commitment to research, retraining



The Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka, Dr. Basil Nwankwo says the hospital is poised towards promoting re-training, research and clinical services as the fundamental basic practices of a Teaching hospital.

Dr. Nwankwo disclosed this in his office when the executive members of the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) Anambra state chapter paid him a country call.

 Chief Medical Director, Dr. Nwankwo said Amaku has tremendously improved from what it used to be and has scaled up its services to ensure that people of the state feel the presence of the Teaching Hospital in their domain.
Dr. Nwankwo thanked Governor Obiano whom he said has been supportive and disclosed that he has cleared all the outstanding arears of salaries and remained steadyfast towards making the hospital one of the best in the country.

The CMD called on journalists to be objective and always cross check their facts before disseminating information.
The state Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Emmanuel Ifesinachi in his speech said their mission was to identify with the CMD, in extending the cordial relationship existing between the Union and the management of the hospital.
Comrade Ifesinachi who said the union is ready to accord the hospital all necessary support especially as it affects the image of the hospital, expressed satisfaction with the current services and performance of the management and staff, intimating him of the fourth coming media summit which will be hosted by the state NUJ.
