www.odogwublog.com reports that a vigilante operator who gave his name as Stanley Emmanuel from Ngwa Abia state has stabbed another young man whose name was given as Chinedu Umuoji, a driver who later died in the hospital.
Eye witness account said the
vigilante man and the driver have been at dagger drawn over a
woman(Nameswithheld) a liquor seller in the industrial town
The vigilante operative unknown to
the driver has laid ambush for him at St Mary area of Nnewi in Anambra state
where he allegedly dealt a deadly blow on his rival.
The deceased was said to have been stabbed
twice at the nope of his neck, slumped and was rushed to the Nnandi Azikiwe
Teaching Hospital Nnewi where he later gave up the ghost.
The killer vigilante allegedly took to his
heels when he realized the enormity of what he has done but the crowd that
gathered immediately after the incident pursued him caught him and would have
been given a jungle justice but for timely intervention of few policemen.
Our source said that the irate mob who used
iron and heavy objects to break one of his legs and used other materials
and the dagger he used to stab the other man to stab him in many parts of his
body yet the vigilante man neither fainted nor died as expected by the mob.
The account alleged that the mob had to
search him and found some charms he tied on his waist which they removed and
further descended on him but he refused to die or faint.
When our reporter arrived the scene the man
was still on the ground breathing and when interviewed, he could only mention
his name and said he is a native of Ngwa in Abia state.
Meanwhile, police officers
from Nnewi Central Police Station arrived the scene in two of their
patrol vehicles to took him away to an undisclosed hospital.
The Police Public
Relation Officer of Anambra state police command could not be reached for her
comment at the time of filing this report as her cell phone was switched off.
