Postulant Eleazer Okere laments on attitude of some youthful priests

ODOGWU EMEKA ODOGWU reports that an Anglican Postulant with St Paul’s Theology Seminary Awka, Anambra state, Mr Eleazer Okere has frowned at the attitude of some young men ordained priests,

He as well frowned at the attitude of others about to be ordained priests in the society who said God called them in the Church of God.

He wondered why virtues should not be identified in their lives but vices, and pointed out the need for young priests to be dedicated and committed in the doctrines of the Anglican Communion, they vowed to protect.

Okere attached to Church of Holy Spirit Anglican Communion Awka inside Paul University Awka was speaking on the topic of sermon, ‘’Living for eternity’’, 21st May, 2017 at the Church during the Rogation Sunday.

He charged priests already in the vineyard to raise army of workers for the Lord to reduce the emergency ‘God called me’ priests who denigrate the name of God and let down the virtues of Priesthood by their attitudes and utterances.

Postulant Okere condemned the rate nakedness and nobody cares at which youths bare their body especially females among them to the public glare, against the maxim that the way you dress , is the way you will be addressed. He advised that discipline should be encouraged in the Church.

He encouraged Christians to still be honest in their dealings with others for the public to see Jesus Christ like attitude in them.

He condemned the act of inviting comedians into Alter of God to joke and mock Christians, wondering where such theology emanated from in the history of the Church.

He lamented that youths of today have no respects for their elders in attitude and character, urging them to have a rethink as what measures they give, they should expect in return. 

Postulant Okere appealed to Christians to thirsty and hunger for righteousness and do well to all men as the only thing that pays and brings one nigh to God always.

He decried that the vices in the world have entered the Church , absorbing the true gospel of God while the virtues in the Church are quick disappearing turning Churches to social clubs and worldly gatherings.

He encouraged Christians not to be distracted but be focused on the eternal race until they get crowned with glory of eternity, adding that reading the scriptures is a blessing. He commended the Vicar , Church of Holy Spirit, Reverend Canon Jason O.Z Onyeakagbusi for the opportunity he granted him to share the gospel with the congregation.
