Chioma and guests including traditional rulers

www.odogwublog.com reports that a
new Television series targeted at promoting the varieties of food,
culture, language, and traditional stories of the different communities
in South-East will soon be launched by a team led by a Nollywood star
and Anambra born Chioma Okoye.
Chioma
has 19 Nollywood films to her credit , and 2 in Igbo language even as
she had embarked on campaigns to raise money in millions for ailing
Nollywood members
The television series tagged "Ebube Igbo" was announced during a press conference in Awka.
The
series will begin in Omabala area of Anambra state comprising of
Anambra East and West as well as Ayamelum council areas and gradually
get to every community in South East states, using indigenous and new
talents in the areas visited.
The organizers of
the Ebube Igbo TV soap opera, Chioma Okoye, her counterpart, Sacramento
Ekwueme on behalf of 2 others said that the programme is to promote the
culture and tradition of Igbo people, thereby putting the tribe in its
pride of place.
The Senior Special Assistant to
the Governor on Creative Media, Bob Manuel Udokwu who is also a
Nollywood Star, thanked the initiators of the programme for their vision
that it was the right step to take.
Traditional
rulers of Enugwu- Aguleri, Igwe Chukwuemeka Eri, that of Umueri, Igwe
Sir Ben Emeka, his Umuoba Anam Counterpart, Igwe George Ekwealor were
present at the unveiling ceremony. Others present were top notch
Nollywood actors such as Chigozie Atuanya, Comrade (Eze) Harris Chuma , a
movie legend and Coordinator National Coalition Against Corruption , an
NGO, Adaora Uko and many others.
Representatives
of Youth Wing of Ohaneze Ndigbo, and Anambra Association of Town
Unions, ASATU as well as the Ministry of Local Government and
Chieftaincy Affairs were also present.
Igwe Eri
prayed God to unite Igbos as the attitude of Ndigbo simply ties them
down rather than actions of outsiders. He advocated that henceforth
Ndigbo should be gathering at Obu Guard at Enugwu Aguleri for their
meetings as Arewa and Oduduwa do.
On his part,
Igwe Emeka lamented that Ndigbo are everywhere in the world but could
not speak their language but always quick to learn other tribes tongue.
Also , Igwe Ekwealor decried the type of attire Igbo women wear against the quality wears meant for women.
The
TV series will enhance knowledge of culture , proficiency in Igbo
language , Insights into the Igbo beliefs and discovery of talents and
