www.odogwublog.com reports that the operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,[NDLEA]  yesterday confiscated about 233 bags of cannabis at an improvised warehouse in Awgu local government area of the state, where the illegal substance was hidden.

The NDLEA said the prime suspect,Mr Tagbor Nwafor is currently on the run but arrested his mother because she has access to the improvised warehouse where the marijuana were packed.
.
The Enugu state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who inspected the substances yesterday at NDLEA state office in Enugu, urged the NDLEA personnel not to relent in their commitment to rid the society of the cultivation and sale of hard drugs, noting that its adverse effects on the youth cannot be overemphasized.

He advised rural dwellers  in communities where drug peddlers carry out their nefarious trade to always assist security agencies in unmasking the culprits, saying "there is nothing good about hard drugs and we should neither condone their cultivation nor sale amongst us".

The leader of the operation and superintendent of narcotics, Mr. Julius Aruna, assured Ugwuanyi that the agency was on the prime suspect's trail and will arrest him and fellow accomplices for prosecution soon. He reiterated the agency's determination to ensure a drug-free society and thanked the governor for his support to the agency.
