www.odogwublog.com reports that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has blasted a group known as STAND UP NIGERIA ( SUN) for criticising the Amnesty International over its recent report on extra- judicial killing of Biafra agitators the Nigeria security operatives.
SUN had accused Amnesty International of trying to destabilize Nigeria with the release of its report that security agencies killed over 150 unarmed Biafra agitators in cold blood in different parts of South East.
The leaders of the group, one Rev. Christie Amor had sharply disagreed with Amnesty over its claims in the report, alleging it was meant to put Nigeria in bad light.
IPOB in a press statement signed by its Media and Publicity Officer, Emma Powerful, dismissed SUN as a nonsexistent group hired by the Federal Government to water down the weight of the damming Amnesty report.
"The shameless strategy of propping up non-existing groups to make frivolous press statements in a spurious bid to cover up the blood stained activities of the oppressive Nigerian state has suddenly gotten to an embarrassing level", IPOB said.
The statement read in part: " One unknown group, which actually is a pseudonym for the public relations wing of a security service has been hired in an unsuccessful attempt to dilute the amnesty international report backed up by videos, pictures/photos and live witnesses/direct victims of the attacks (which are currently trending all over the world).
"The non-existent group branded STAND UP NIGERIA, led by an unknown quantity called “Rev“ Christie Amor, fruitlessly embarked on an attempt to water down the impact of the damming Amnesty International report on extra Judicial killings of Easterners/IPOB members by Nigeria’s military in the last twelve months.
"Nobody has heard of Christie Amor anywhere before now, the only Stand Up Nigeria anybody has ever heard it is the stand-up comedy shows held by Basket mouth and co."
IPOB said the Federal Government would not succeed in any attempt to use fictitious groups to blackmail Amnesty over the report which it said is gaining global attention.
"The decision to hire an unknown character for a non-existent group to attack Amnesty International does not explain the cold blooded murders in the videos currently trending all over the world.
"The desperate plot to abuse Amnesty International through an unknown group, rather than fool anybody, actually exposes the cluelessness and guilty conscience of those who ordered the killing of Easterners/IPOB members in cold blood as clearly seen in all the videos and photos currently trending globally. "
"That government has sent pythons to dance in very peaceful and stable Eastern Nigeria this month, only means that soon, they will organize yet again another sit down Nigeria, this time with one “Bishop” Christie Armor to entertain the world with fresh attacks on Amnesty International for exposing their premeditated atrocities."
