Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Agulu Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has produced 308 graduates at BSC level, 70 MSC, 8 Ph.D holders.

So said the Dean of the Faculty Professor Uzochukwu Ikemefuna while making a presentation earlier on the History, challenges and prospects of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Pharmacy School. He said that the Institution has thrived on a public private partnership basis, noting that so far they have stressing that if their admission quota can be increased by the NUC, more graduates will be admitted and churned out.
He added that hopefully, with the availability of more funds, they are better poised to change the fortunes of the people.

Just as the State government has assured of dedicated measures to clamp down on fake and adulterated drug peddlers in the State.

Governor Willie Obiano stated this at the tenth year anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Governor Obiano who decried the high rate of infiltration of fake drugs into the market, stressed that with the existence of the Faculty, it is hoped that quality and knowledgeable pharmacists will continue to be churned out as a measure to wage war against production, sale and purchase of fake drugs in the State.

Governor Obiano represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke, commended the support being given to the Institution from well meaning individuals and pledged State government's support for the Institution.
The Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe, Professor Joseph Ahaneku, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, Professor Charles Esimone, appreciate God for the celebration, as well as other benefactors that have graciously donated to the course of the Institution.
Professor Ahaneku who said that the Institution is desirous of an endowment fund, noted that within a short time, the faculty has made remarkable progress beyond its age, adding that his administration will continue to work tirelessly to improve facilities in the Faculty.
Earlier in a remark, the Chairman on the Occasion, Dr Ifeanyi Okoye, who is a major benefactor of the Faculty, revealed that positioning of the Institution at Agulu is strategic, pointing out that after much struggles at inception, people including the federal government have started to step in to help, though he said more support is needed from the State government, and individuals, to advance the Institution.
