Dr Orji Uzo Kalu in the eyes of Barr Afam Ilounoh

Let the truth be told about the man Dr Orji Uzo Kalu and his politics with special reference to his recent move to APC. Few has been critical of the move but many who know OUK understood his moves.

He is a loyal Party man to the core. As a foundation member of PDP he gave his all to the Party but towards 2006, some elements that are threatened by his growing popularity pushed him out of the Party. When that happened, rather than join any other Party he and his followers floated a brand new political Party “the PPA”.

For solid 10 years he showed his hallmark of stability, contesting elective positions in the Party. Like the Bible said “there is a time for everything under the face of the earth”. It was time to move and he did so by joining APC to bring his vibrancy and strong character to the Party.

 It is on record that there are many politicians who have changed Party multiple times more than OUK. Compare him to the following 1. HE Bola Tinubu the former governor of Lagos State, who have moved from AD to AC to ACN and finally to APC 2. HE Atiku Abubakar the former Vice President of Nigeria, who have moved from PDP to AC back to PDP and the now in APC 3.

HE President Buhari the current President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, who have moved from APP to ANPP to CPC and now in APC 4. And so many others numerous to mention Among most Nigerian politicians OUK have made the most minimal change of Party.
The few that are critical of his politics must give him credit for being a strong brand that brings a lot to the table wherever he goes. He is a man that is not afraid to face a new challenge. However for others who are intimidated by his towering profile, they will always have something to say whether they make sense or not. They just want their voice to be heard. Barr Afam Ilounoh
