Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke ends Jubilee Trade Fair In Anambra

The so much talked about Anambra Jubilee Fair has ended with a call on the participants to sustain the gains of the fair.
Governor Obiano who performed the closing Ceremony at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka made the call.
The members of the three Chambers of Commerce from Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka, in partnership with the State government, as well as exhibitions by participants were in attendance.
Governor Obiano who expressed satisfaction at the success of the fair, congratulated the participants and called for its sustenance, as according to him, the platform hopefully provides business men an opportunity to interact and exchange ideas on how to improve their products and services.
Governor Obiano, represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke expressed happiness that the present administration has succeeded in creating the enabling environment for businesses to thrive, especially through the establishment of ANSIPPA, reiterating his continued commitment to change by doing things the right way.
The Governor urged participants who have seen the ongoing transformation of the various sectors of the State economy, to bring more investments into the State, now well secured for businesses.
Speaking, the Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Markets and Wealth Creation, Barrister Amaka Ilobi, said the fair afforded participants ample opportunity to showcase their goods and services, the sights and sounds of Anambra State, as well as provided enough economic stimulation for the State.
Barrister Ilobi who noted that the fair with up to ninety two participants enjoyed full patronage from customers, expressing optimism that a lot had being learnt.
Earlier, the Chairman of Onitsha Chamber of Commerce, Pharmacist Uchenna Apakama, said that mindful of the challenges, the fair opened doors of better ideas for a better exhibition in the coming years.
The Chairman, Organizing Committee, Chief Sunny Nwachukwu appreciated State government's support, noting that the theme of the fair, fully played out.
Presentation of certificates of participation, award presentations to the Governor and the Deputy Governor, as well as other outstanding participants including the ABS were high points of the event.
The Governor later toured the exhibition sites.
