MASSOB, IPOB CONDEMNS RELEASE OF AGBAHIME'S SUSPECTED KILLERS

Reactions trails the discharge of all the alleged killers of late Bridget Agbahime, a trader based in Kano, by the Kano state magistrate court. Unsuprisingly, many core Igbo groups, such as Movement for the Actualization of Biafra [MASSOB],Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB], Ohaneze Youth Forum [OYC], Igbo Youth Movement [IYM] all condemned in string terms, the shameful release of all the five suspected killers of the late Imo state born business woman ho was cruelly and gruesomely beheaded in Kano for alleged blasphemy.

A magistrate court sitting in Kano had on Thursday discharged all the five accused. Agbahime, 74 was on June 2 murdered in Kofar Wambai Market in Kano earlier in the year, which has prompted uproar in the country before the police arrested the suspected killers. The accused killers are Dauda Ahmed. Abdulmumeen Mustapha, Zubairu Abubarkar and Musa Abdullahi. However, in his judgement on Thursday, Mohammed Jibrin, the chief magistrate discharged all the five accused persons and terminated the case with the directive of the Kano state attorney general, but reacting to the judgement, MASSOB and other sister organizations blatantly rejected the judgement. In a statement issued by the MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu said that the judgement was delivered by some satanic agents of Islamic fundamentalists in Kano. The statement added, "The express judgement of the Muslim magistrate court proves that Islamic sentiment was attached to it. It was a calculated directive from the Kano state government to deny the family of late Agbahime and Ndigbo in General, justice. Even though we condemn this insensitive act and insulting  judgement against an Igbo woman, MASSOB is not surprised because the religious and tribal orientation of the Hausa fulani against Ndigbo and Christians is the manifestation of this unholy and  barbaric impunity with religious shed," Uchenna Madu concludes.
