CHARGES AGAINST ME FRIVOLOUS, BASELESS, IPOB LAEDER TELLS FG

The detained leader of the indigenous people of Biafra[IPOB] Nnamdi Okwu Kanu, has reacted to the new six-count charges filed against him by the federal government, describing it as frivolous, unfounded and baseless as the one sought to be amended" The resolute IPOB leader said this was the last trump card of the Federal Government to frustrate the

hearing of his bail application. 

Kanu in a reaction through his defence counsel, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, said contrary to media reports, said he was never charged with terrorism offenses in the amended charge, neither was he charged with 11-count amended charge. Ejiofor said a cursory glean at the new concocted amended six-count charges preferred against Nnamdi Kan, showed that the new counts 5 and 6, are repetitions of count 3 in the earlier charge, which is improper importation of goods. He argued that the six counts charge preferred against his client were not only empty but frivolous and and baseless, stressing that they were merely concocted to make the  alleged offences look magnificent.

The proof of evidence attached to the charge preferred against our client does not in any way show that our client was at ant time arrested with any form of arms or dangerous weapons, as non was mentioned in the proof of evidence attached to the six-count charge preferred against Nnamdi Kanu" he concludes.
