SUSPECTED CULTISTS KILLS BUS DRIVER IN LAGOS!

A commercial bus driver has been attacked
by suspected cultists in Ajegunle area of
Lagos, leading to his death.
The deceased, identified as Adewale Fakunle,
who had gone to visit a friend in Tolu area of
Ajegunle, was returning home at 10p.m., when
he was accosted by some men suspected to
be cultists.
A version of the account narrated that they
attempted to forcefully collect the man’s
phone and other valuables, an action he
resisted, thereby leading to his being gang-
beaten.
Another version had it that he gate-crashed a
meeting of cultists and they reportedly
ordered him to buy drinks for the group for
daring to take their route.
But he resisted the order and was attacked
with dangerous weapons, including broken
bottles and cutlasses.
The third version said that the unsuspecting
commercial bus driver walked into members
of a cult group moments after they had a
clash with another cult group and apparently
mistaken for a member of the rival group, he
was attacked.
After the attack, they abandoned Fakunle in a
pool of his blood. But he was said to have
managed to walk to his 14, Baale Aiyetoro
home, which is also the palace of the
traditional ruler of the community.
Narrating how he died, his uncle, the
traditional ruler identified as Baale Saheed
Fakunle, disclosed that he (victim) was
rushed to City of Hope Private Hospital at
Opeyele Street, but was rejected.

“The victim was a danfo driver
in the area. He was very friendly
and loved by everybody, that is
why you see people here
sympathising with us. He was one
of the grandsons of my uncle.
He was single and lived in this
palace. “I don’t know why he was
attacked. Probably he walked
into their midst. He was
macheted on different parts of
the body. “He managed to return
home in the pool of his blood.
He was rushed to City of Hope
Hospital, but they referred us to
Ajeromi General Hospital.
Unfortunately, he died on the
way to the hospital. He was an
obedient child.”
