Confusion in Ijaw as spokesman of PDI Comrade Daniel Ezekiel abducted

The Ijaw People's Development Initiative (IPDI) has lamented the sudden disappearance of Comrade Daniel Ezekiel, the spokesperson of the group who was allegedly abducted by people masquerading as security operatives.
This fact was made public by the national president of the group, Comrade Austin Ozobo in a press release he authored, a copy of which was made available to Authority through email.

The Ijaw People's Development Initiative alleged that Daniel Ezekiel was abducted by One Micheal Johnny from Ekerenkoko community in Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State.

"We have petitioned the Inspector General of Police, IGP,  AIG in zone 5, Benin city, Director of DSS and Commissioner of police Delta state,  and the Joint Military Task force, operation Delta safe, Yenegoa, demanding for their timely investigation of the sudden disappearance of Daniel Ezekiel in Warri on the 2nd August, 2016 after a purported threat was allegedly put across to his phone by one Micheal Johnny."

"Comrade Daniel Ezekiel was abducted from an hospital in Ometan, Warri, Delta state at noon day of August 2nd, after he was deceived by a girl suspected to be Micheal Johnny's girl friend. He has being framing up Ijaw youths and at same time using unknown gun men to be abducting Ijaw youths in the recent times.

"In devoid of doubt, Michael Johnny is our prime suspect of the abduction of comrade Daniel Ezekiel. Before his abduction on the 2nd of August, 2016, comrade Daniel Ezekiel cried out publicly that his life was threatened by one Micheal Johnny from Okerenkoko some time around 20th of July,2016 with a Gsm number of 0809499999.

"Daniel revealed that Johnny further boasted that he will use his position as prominent and connection in government to use the military to ensure that Daniel is frame up and made to suffer.

IPDI claimed that the suspect made the threat when comrade Ezekiel reportedly queries the arrest of Hon. Simeon Bebenimibo and Bomboy Oluba on social media demanding for the release of the duo.

"We have made frantic efforts to locate his where about but to no avail, in fact in a situation where all relevant security agencies in the country are denying any such arrest. It is Michael Johnny's handiwork, if it where those who kidnap for food or with monetary intents by now they might have contacted his family for ransom.

"Is Nigeria turning into a banana republic,where life is cheap and brute? Is Nigeria gradually turning to a military regime where life of every individual is being threatened.  Is Nigeria practicing military regime where Freedom of speech is been trampled.

"How does the exercise of freedom of speech constitute crime. We are digressing from the main issues of Niger Delta to witch hunt and vendetta, where some persons frame up perceived enemies and freely use unknown gunmen parading as security agents to kidnap and abduct citizens at will.

IPDI said that the Niger Delta region needs greater government attention in addressing the decay of marginalization noting that it is the right of those who feel oppressed to speak up for possible concession and that Comrade Ezekiel was only advocating for change and redress of the perceived myriad of problems of Niger Delta region within the confide of the constitution of the country.

"He is not a member of any criminal group, rather a member of a registered Ijaw Right group, the Ijaw People's Development Initiative, IPDI. If those that abduct Daniel have anything against Ezekiel, let him be charge before a competent court of law and allow him to exercise his rights of freedom of fair hearing. His continues detention is a breach of his constitutional rights of fair hearing, because every accused person is presume to be innocent till proven guilty by competent court of law.

The national president of IPDI through the press release passionately appealed to security agents to dispassionately look into this matter as regards to chronology of unfolding events such as the threat and the subsequent abduction in their cause of investigation and possibly bring the suspect to justice for the dastardly criminal act to avoid causing further crisis in Niger Delta region.
