APGA woman leader Lady Chinyere Ibenta led 3,000 to pray for Obiano's government, re-dedicate Anambra to God (Exclusive)

At a time when government of states in Nigeria need powers to their elbows to be able to survive the present economic turmoil, Anambra women have made it a point of duty to organize constant prayer sessions for Anambra government. ODOGWU EMEKA ODOGWU, who witnessed one of such prayer sessions in Awka reports.

The Anambra State women wing of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, led by Lady Chinyere Ibenta, recently organized prayer and fasting sessions for the peace and progress of the Anambra State. She would have failed in mobilizing the women and even in providing light refreshments if not for the intervention of Evangelist (Dr.) Emmanuel Kay Anyachor, the founder of Global Missionary Ambassadors and others who mobilized to support her.
The women were drawn from the 177 communities of Anambra State, even as they clad in the APGA uniform to make the monthly prayer summit memorable. The women insisted that the prayer session would assist Governor Willie Obiano and his wife, Ebelechukwu, to gain the desired second term in office to continue their numerous strides of good governance. The women equally said that the good works of CAFÉ, pet project of the wife of the governor, needs to be sustained.
The combined service that was presided over by a Catholic priest, Rev. Father (Dr.) Eugene Anowai, attracted other ministers of God, including the financier of the programme, Evangelist (Dr.) Emmanuel Kay Anyachor, Evan. Nwachukwu Abanife and others.
While being trilled in praise and worship by the Devotion Prayer Ministry of all Nations, Ogboji, the women took turns to pray for the Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, his wife, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, as well as Anambra State in general, barren women, youths and for good governance in Nigeria.
Disclosing her reason for introducing the monthly prayer, the state Women’s Leader of APGA, Lady Chinyere Ibenta, said the activities of some sycophants and administrative tediousness compelled her to organize the women for the prayers, adding that Nigerian leaders need serious prayers to deliver on their mandate.
“I know that prayer is the key that opens the doors of success, peace and unity and that is why we decided to pray and fast for our dear state that God will continue to protect and guide our dear Governor, Chief Willie Obiano and his wife, Ebelechukwu, that God will continue to direct them and move them from strength to strength.
“This prayer will go a long way in breaking the  long barriers that have not been broken because our governor is doing very well in all areas and needs the prayers of the women”,  She said.
On his part, the women’s benefactor and founder of Global Missionary Ambassadors, Evang. (Dr.) Emmanuel Kay Anyachor, described the prayer as a dream of Her Excellency, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, meant to foster cooperation and unity among the Anambra women.
He disclosed further that he indicated interest in the prayer because it was meant to dedicate Anambra State government and the entire people of the state unto God.
“I have passion for this because I believe in God and I know that when God is in-charge, every other force will disperse. We all know that there is power in the prayer and very soon, we will start enjoying the proceeds of today’s prayer.
“This prayer will drive away sycophants in this government so that our governor and his wife’s good intentions for the people of Anambra State will be accomplished. Anambra is blessed and that is why other states are behind us”, Anyachor said.
Earlier in his homily, Rev. Fr. Eugene Anowai, urged the women to be honest and trustworthy at all times for their prayers to be effective, stressing that there are hardly honest people in Nigeria.
Admitting that the foundation of Nigerian nation has collapsed, Fr. Anowai eulogized Governor Willie Obiano for prompt payment of worker’s salaries, even at a time when other states including those that have oil owe their workers.
The APGA Woman Leader is not stopping at that as she has mobilized to host winners of different pageants in South-East Nigeria, particularly Anambra State, to an all embracing summit to educate them on issues that would make them true female Ambassadors for the state and South-East.
Lady Ibenta recently received the reigning queen for 2016/2017 Ada South-East Nigeria, Miss Nwobu Anastasia Chichebem, who paid her a courtesy call at his APGA state secretariat in Awka, adding that the summit by her office would be graced and facilitated by the office of the wife of the Anambra State Governor, Chief Mrs Eberechukwu Obiano.
Lady Ibenta took the visiting queen and her team down memory lane on the achievements of the Obiano’s administration, especially the wife, who has built and donated 12 ultra modern bungalows with boreholes to 12 indigent women in some communities of Anambra State and still building among numerous other philanthropic gestures from her CAFÉ programmes as well as rehabilitation and upgrade of facilities and feeding at Isulo special school abandoned before Obiano’s wife visited them. She requested her to assist mobilize for Obiano’s second term in office.
