Anglican Diocese confirms 88 Communicants...Admits 24 into Mothers' Union , 64 into Girls' Guild

No fewer than Eighty-eight (88) confirmation candidates were on Sunday inducted into the
Order of the Sacrament of Holy Communion of the Anglican Communion by
the Bishop of Awka Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr Alex Ibezim.
As well, Sixty four (64) and Twenty four (24) candidates were also admitted into Girls' Guild and Mothers' Union respectively.

Performing the ceremonies at St. Andrew's Parish, Enugwu-Ukwu in
Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State Bishop Ibezim prayed for the upliftment of the families of the hundreds of
Anglican faithful and priests that graced the ceremony including Mrs Dorothy
Okeke, the mother of the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Nkem
Okeke.

The Communicants and inductees were draw from five Anglican
churches in Enugwu-Ukwu community which are: Immanuel Parish, St.
Peter's, St. Monica's, Our Saviours and the host church, St. Andrew's.

In his homily, the Awka Diocesan Anglican Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr Alex Ibezim, reminded
the Communicants, the inductees into the Mothers' Union and Girls'
Guild of the need to brace up for the challenges associated with the
bearing of Christ's cross. He warned them to desist from sinful acts
capable of severing their renewed relationship with God.

Speaking on the topic: Life through the Holy Spirit, Ibezim, called on
all Christians to enthrone the Holy Spirit in their various families
for sustainable peace and tranquility in communities and the nation at
large.
